Source Protection Authorities
The Lake Erie Source Protection Region includes four watersheds and their respective conservation authorities: Catfish Creek, Grand River, Kettle Creek and Long Point Region. Under the Source Protection Program, each conservation authority has special duties as a source protection authority, and has its own board. The Clean Water Act, 2006, and its regulations list the duties of the source protection authority board.
The Grand River Source Protection Authority is the lead authority of the Lake Erie Source Protection Region. It has the additional responsibilities of hiring staff, signing contracts, managing the budget, and appointing members to the Lake Erie Region Source Protection Committee.
