Call for Applications - Business and Industry Representatives
The Lake Erie Region Source Protection Committee (SPC) is seeking applications for Business and Industry representatives in advance of potential vacancies between September and November, 2024.
Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. We thank all applicants for their interest in joining the SPC. Only successful applicants will be contacted regarding next steps in the selection process.
The Lake Erie Region SPC is responsible for providing direction and oversight for the creation and administration of the Assessment Report and Source Protection Plan for four source protection areas within Lake Erie Region (Grand River, Long Point Region, Catfish Creek, and Kettle Creek), as per the Clean Water Act, 2006.
The Assessment Reports and Plans were approved by the Province in 2015/2016, and the committee's role is to continue to guide the collaborative process that identifies the sources of drinking water, the threats to both water quality and water supplies, develop the programs and policies that will reduce the risks to drinking water sources and report on implementation of source protection plan policies.
Members of the SPC are expected to participate fully and work positively toward solutions. There is a commitment to participate in approximately 4-5 half-day meetings per year, for a term of four years.
The application form contains additional information on eligibility criteria and obligations of committee members.
