Public comments sought on updates to the Grand River Source Protection Plan

Members of the public are invited to read and comment on the proposed updates to the Grand River Source Protection Plan. The Plan has been prepared under the Clean Water Act, 2006 to protect municipal sources of drinking water and ensure their sustainable use into the future.

The Source Protection Program is designed with continuous improvements in mind. Updates to the Source Protection Plan are proposed to incorporate a replacement well at the Lynden Communal Well System (City of Hamilton) to replace a well that has been decommissioned. A modified Wellhead Protection Area ‘A’ has now been included in the draft amended Source Protection Plan for the replacement well. Policies have also been updated to conform with the 2021 Technical Rules for identifying drinking water threats.

Public Feedback

Public comments and questions about the changes presented in the draft amended Source Protection Plan are welcome. Only comments that address the proposed changes of this draft Plan update will be considered.  Members of the public are invited to submit comments in writing to:
